Álvaro Calderón Martínez, documentalista puertorriqueño, nos presentó su filme "Julia Vive", un proyecto que fusiona documento y narrativa para traer al presente a esa Julia que no murió en 1953. Un trabajo que busca posicionarla en el HOY, celebrando a la intelectual autodidacta, educadora rural, poeta y periodista que en solo 39 años de vida pública cambió todo.

Hablamos de una mujer que abrió brechas para las futuras generaciones, con una visión internacionalista y una lucha social que late en cada verso y en cada gesto de rebeldía. Un diálogo necesario entre Cuba y Puerto Rico, entre la investigación y el cine, para recordar que #JuliaVive en nuestra memoria colectiva y en la lucha que continúa.”

“Excelente participación del documentalista Álvaro Calderón de Puerto Rico, con su obra inédita ‘Julia Vive’ en Casa de las Américas / La Habana, Cuba, presentado por el Vice Presidente Jaime Gómez Triana y precedido por un conversatorio de expertos en el tema. 

Julia de Burgos (1914-1953), por sólo citar un atributo, fue la más excelsa poetisa puertorriqueña, de gran vínculo con Cuba. El documental revela toda su dimensión como mujer precursora y patriota.
